A man was hacked to death by a young man at Rahimanpur Madrasah Bazar in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon on Saturday following a brawl over a trifling matter.
The deceased was identified as Anisur Rahman (40), son of Nendu Mohammad, hailing from Rahimanpur village, UNB reports.
Quoting witnesses, Md Abdul Latif Miah, the Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station said Anisur and Sujon locked into a brawl at the bazaar.
At one stage, Sujon hacked Anisur with an axe around 11:30am, leaving him injured critically.
Anisur was admitted to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Later, locals caught Sujon (25), and handed him over to police.
