Three arrested with firearms and bullets in Ctg

Three individuals were arrested in Noapara for possession of weapons and ammunition. 

The arrests were made during a raid in the Chowdhuryhat area of Noapara union in Raozan upazila, BSS reports. 

Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Russell provided details of the operation at a press conference held at the Chattogram District Police Superintendent's office today. 

The joint operation involved the District Detective Branch (DB), Raozan police station, and Patiya police station. The first arrest was made on November 18 when Zahir Ahmed, a local grocery shopkeeper, was apprehended.  

Later, a foreign pistol and two magazines filled with bullets were found on the shelves of his shop. Based on Zahir’s confession, two other individuals named Sakibul Islam and Rana were arrested.  

Additional Superintendent of Police mentioned that, on Monday, a single-barrel gun and three cartridges were recovered from a pond in the Chowdhuryhat area based on information received from the interrogation of Humayun Uddin. These weapons were hidden by the absconding accused Mohiuddin.

Chattogram District Detective Branch filed five cases this month, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals and the recovery of 16 firearms, eight local weapons, 75 rounds of bullets, and 24 cartridges.
