A transport owner has been stabbed to death in front of his wife in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur.
Police said 37-year-old Swapon, the owner of Bhuiyan Paribahan, was killed in a knife attack in front of his wife near Japan Garden City on Wednesday.
SM Zakaria, the chief of Adabor Police Station, said that the incident occurred around 8:00 pm, reports bdnews24.com.
Swapon was stabbed by his bus driver, Sohel, who is known by a single name, following a heated argument over financial transactions.
Locals rushed him to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police are actively searching for Sohel, who is believed to be responsible for the murder.
Swapn was a shareholder in Bhuiyan Paribahan, which operates buses on the Mohammadpur-Kuril route.
The buses are leased on contract, with the drivers paying an agreed amount to the bus owners.
