Two sentenced to death over 2023 murder of Tejgaon College student

A Dhaka court has sentenced two men to death for the murder of Tejgaon College student Ikram Hossain Molla in 2023.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Sabbir Fayez delivered the verdict on Sunday, according to court official Md Riaz Hossain.
The convicts are Shanto Mia, a friend of the victim, and Shanto’s associate Siddiq.
They were also sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Tk 50,000 each for concealing the body, with an additional three months of imprisonment in default of payment.
Shanto remains absconding. The court has issued a conviction warrant along with an arrest warrant against him.
Siddiq was produced before the court and sent to jail after the verdict was announced.
