A young man was stabbed to death by a group over a trivial matter in Lalbagh area of Dhaka city on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Hossain, 18, of the locality, reports UNB.
Deputy Commissioner (Lalbagh zone) Md Nazir Ahmed Khan said the killing incident might take place over smoking at Shaheed Nagar at around 9:00 pm.
The cause behind the incident would be confirmed after investigation, he said.
Rafi was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with critical stab injury in his stomach where doctors pronounced him dead, said Inspector Md Bachhu Mia of the hospital.
Later the body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, four people were taken to police station for interrogation.
