A young man was shot dead allegedly by Indian Khasia tribesmen at Utma border under Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Israil Ali, 25, son of Taiab Ali of Bijoy Parua village in the upazila.
Dilip Kumar Debnath, officer-in-charge of Companiganj Police Station, said some Khasia community people shot Israil when he entered the Indian territory for collecting wood around 2:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot, reports UNB.
