Miscreants hurled 4-5 crude bombs at Sweeper Colony near Jashore Railway Station in Sadar upazila on Sunday.

Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the crude bombs were thrown at the colony around 4:00pm, creating panic among the dwellers.

Ranjan Sarker, a resident of the colony, claimed that the miscreants had long been demanding Tk 10,000 as extortion from the residents of the colony and as they failed to realise the extortion, they hurled the bombs in the afternoon, reports UNB.

However, no one was injured in the incident.

Protesting the incident, the residents of the colony brought out a procession and put up barricade on the rail tracks.
