Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Rezaul Karim’s house was attacked in the Bahaddarhat area of Chattogram on Saturday.
A clash broke out between Chhatra League and students during the attack on the CCC mayor’s house.
Kazi Md Tarek Aziz, additional deputy commissioner (Public Relations) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter to UNB news agency.
“We have heard about the matter. It is being investigated now,” he said.
Earlier at around 6:30 pm, a section of protesters from a rally of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement in Chattogram's Sholoshahar area allegedly attacked the residence of Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury. Two private cars and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw parked in front of Nowfel’s house were reportedly vandalised.
Additionally, a police box at Tiger Pass in the city was vandalised. The procession also set fire to the office of Member of Parliament Mohiuddin Bachchu near the petrol pump at WASA circle area.
