CTTC deploys drone to observe Narsingdi hideout

The members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational (CTTC) have deployed a drone to observe the situation at the second 'militant den' at Gangpar area in Madhabdi municipality of Narsingdi.

On the second day of the operation 'Gardian Knot', law enforcers deployed the drone on Wednesday morning.

Monirul Islam, chief of the members of the CTTC unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said, "The team has deployed a drone to observe the situation inside the building."

He said, "The existence of two militants inside this house is sure ...there might be more. They might have assembled explosives in the house."

The law enforcers have asked them several times over loudspeakers to surrender, but they did not respond to their so far, he added.

"If they do not surrender within two hours, we'll start an operation at the seven-storey building. A special team from Dhaka is on their way," Monirul said.

CTTC members in association with the local police surrounded the building of owned by Afzal Haji since Monday night, reports UNB.

Besides, members of CTTC unit and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) conducted an operation at a 'militant den' in a five-story building at Bhogiratpur on Tuesday afternoon and recovered the bodies of two suspected militants.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was also present.
