Cyclone Michaung: Tourist ship operations suspended on Teknaf-St Martin’s Island route

The authorities have suspended tourist ship operations on Teknaf-Saint Martin’s Island route in Cox's Bazaar since Wednesday morning due to inclement weather triggered by the cyclonic storm Michaung.

Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Adnan Chowdhury said some tourists were stranded in Saint Martin's Island following the suspension of tourist ship operations, reports UNB.

The movement suspension will remain in force until further notice.

It could not be known immediately how many tourists are stranded on the island.

According to AP, twelve people died in the downpour before Michaung made landfall along India's southeast coast on Tuesday.
