Different land-related services at field level are being closely monitored by a dashboard, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said on Sunday.
"Strict measures will be taken against harassment of people following the monitoring of field-level activities through the dashboard," the minister noted.
He said these while speaking as the chief guest of a coordination meeting of divisional commissioners, held in the Ministry of Land at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman chaired the meeting. Divisional commissioners from across the country along with senior officials of the ministry were present, said a press release.
The land minister also expressed concern over persistent complaints of citizen harassment, and he pledged to take stricter measures to ensure corruption-free land services in the national interest.
He emphasised that if efficient, transparent, people-friendly, and accountable land services are not ensured, it would be impossible to establish Bangabandhu's dream of 'Sonar Bangla'.
Mr Chowdhury also focused on increasing awareness of land service receivers nationwide, and stated that considering all levels of land service receivers, necessary measures must be taken to provide them with proper information.
The land secretary informed the divisional commissioners that land officials have been trained about digital land services in 40 districts across the country.
