The death toll from the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara has risen to 31.
Earlier at 8:00 am on Tuesday, the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Dr Sayedur Rahman, at a briefing, confirmed the updated casualty figures of 27.
He said 20 bodies have so far been handed over to families.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), the FT-7BGI fighter jet took off from Kurmitola Air Base at 1:06 pm on Monday and crashed minutes later into a two-storey school building at 1:18 pm due to a mechanical failure.
As the aircraft caught fire and hit the school building, leaving casualties.
