Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said those who have got deviated from ethics and ideology can give nothing to the nation.

Without naming anybody, the Prime Minister said, "None can do anything good to the people after getting deviated from truth, ideology and right track."

Sheikh Hasina came up with the statement while addressing a discussion in the city on Monday, report UNB and BSS.

Awami League arranged the discussion at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on the occasion of the Victory Day. AL President Sheikh Hasina chaired the discussion.

In her address, the Prime Minister wanted to know who will lead the government if Jatiya Oikyafront forms it winning the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"I want to ask a question here. Who will be their head of the government? Is it she [Khaleda Zia] who embezzled the money of orphans, or the convict [Tarique Rahman] who killed Ivy Rahman in August 21 grenade attack or any other person from Razakar force whom we awarded sentence for war crimes? They're yet to make it clear," she said.

Seeking vote for her party in the coming election Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the Awami League should stay in power at least for five more years so that none can upset the country’s current pace of progress.

Sheikh Hasina said her party has prepared an economic plan to reduce poverty by 5 to 6 per cent more before celebrating ‘Mujib Year’ marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu in 2020 and golden jubilee of independence in 2021.

Awami League leaders, including its general secretary Obaidul Quader, Tofail Ahmed, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, and noted writer and historian Prof Muntasir Mamoon, spoke on the occasion.
