Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-drug drive arrested 28 suspects from different areas of Dhaka city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drive in various places of the capital and recovered 338 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 309 grams heroine, along with a kilo and 596 grams cannabis, according to a DMP statement issued on Thursday.
A total of 24 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The drive began at 6:00am on Wednesday and ended at 6:00am on Thursday, the statement added.
