Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has announced a 10 per cent increase in water prices effective from July 1.
In a notification issued Wednesday, WASA said that water prices have been increased according to Section 22 of the WASA Act 1996 to adjust for inflation, a local daily newspaper reports.
The price of water for residential customers has been fixed at Tk 16.70 per 1,000 litres, up from Tk 15.18.
For commercial customers, the new price has been set at Tk 46.20 per 1,000 litres, up from Tk 42.
