The fire fighters brought the blaze at a multi-storey building in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi under control around 11:17 am on Wednesday.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence said three people with injuries were rescued from the scene.
According to bdnews24.com, the fire started at House No. 18, a 12-storey residential building next to the Surovi School, on Road No. 5 around 10:25am on Wednesday.
The operator on duty at the control room said the fire started on the seventh floor of the building.
Six units from the Fire Service were dispatched to the scene and began firefighting efforts around 10:40am.
Md Shahjahan Sikder, spokesman for the Fire Service, said: “Three people with injuries who were trapped in the building have been rescued and sent to a hospital.”
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, he said.
