Digital ticketing is transforming lives across Bangladesh, making travel more accessible, efficient, and stress-free, said sector insiders at a knowledge-sharing event in the city on Monday.
They said as technology reshapes the country’s transport sector, passengers are experiencing greater convenience, transparency, and security in booking their journeys.
At a knowledge-sharing session at a city hotel in Dhaka on Monday titled "Ticketing to Transform Lives," Shohoz officials and journalists gathered to discuss how digitalisation is solving long-standing challenges in ticketing.
The discussion highlighted how digital platforms are eliminating the hassles of long queues, uncertainty, and last-minute panic, particularly during peak travel seasons like Eid, Puja, and national holidays.
For decades, securing a ticket for festivals or essential travel was a difficult process. Passengers faced limited ticket availability, price manipulation, and reliance on middlemen.
Speakers at the event emphasised how digital ticketing is not just about technology—it’s about empowerment.
By removing barriers, it has ensured that people from all regions, backgrounds, and economic levels can get access to travel with ease. Whether it’s a student heading home, a worker commuting daily, or a family travelling for a festival, ticketing solutions are making journeys smoother and more reliable, they added.
With millions relying on digital platforms for travel, ticketing has become an integral part of Bangladesh’s modern transportation system. The session reinforced the importance of continued digital adoption to make ticketing even more efficient and inclusive for all.
