Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjad Ali has urged the police members to discharge their duties with utmost dedication and professionalism for serving the people.
"Any kind of situation must be dealt with courage. Police members must keep their confidence high. They have to serve people by maintaining neutrality," he told the media after inspecting the Grand Master Parade at Rajarbag Police Lines in the capital on Sunday.
Mentioning the police as a 'disciplined force' he said there is no scope in the police force to do anything against discipline and rules.
The DMP commissioner also said the duty of the police members is to win public trust through rendering legal services to the people.
He focused on gearing up the police officials' respective duties to ensure public welfare. He urged them to increase positive images of the force by doing more pro-people work.
"We would be able to make the DMP as a modern and vibrant force of public trust through working collectively," he added.
