

Police have recovered a dismembered body from the footpath adjacent to the National Eidgah ground in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur said that two plastic drums were thrown on the footpath next to the water pump at the National Eidgah ground between 2:30 pm and 2:45 pm, reports UNB.
Later, one of the drums was opened, and a dismembered human body, including the head, was found inside. Being informed, a team from Shahbagh Police Station rushed to the spot and recovered the body of a man, aged around 47-48 years, he added.
He added that the body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, and a detailed investigation is being conducted, said OC Khalid Mansur.
