Dhaka Medical College shut indefinitely; students asked to vacate halls by Sunday

The authorities of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) have announced an indefinite closure of the institution amid the ongoing deadlock.
Students have been instructed to vacate the halls by 12 pm on Sunday.
However, students appearing in professional MBBS examinations and foreign students will remain exempt from this directive.
According to the decision made at an emergency academic council meeting held today (Saturday), all academic activities for MBBS students at Dhaka Medical College will remain suspended from Sunday.
The information was disclosed in a notice signed by Professor Dr Md Kamrul Alam, Principal of Dhaka Medical College.
For the past few weeks, students of Dhaka Medical College have been staging protests against the hazardous condition of the residential and academic buildings.
On Friday, they submitted a memorandum outlining five demands and held a sit-in demonstration at the Milon Chattar on campus.
