DMP arrests 40 people in anti-narcotics drives

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 40 people in a regular anti-narcotics drive on the charges of selling and consuming illegal drugs.

Different police stations under DMP conducted the drives and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours, ending at 6:00am, on Monday.

The law enforcers also seized 445 pieces of yaba, 100 grams of heroin and 2.340 kilograms of cannabis, 121 bottles of Phensedyl, 12 cans of beers and some other drugs, according to a DMP statement.

A total of 32 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
