Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-narcotics drive arrested 46 suspects from different areas of Dhaka city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drives in different places of the capital and seized 2,914 pieces of yaba tablets, 570 grams heroin and two kilograms and 200 grams cannabis, according to a DMP statement received Thursday (today).
A total of 33 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The operation began at 6:00am on Wednesday and ended at 6:00am on Thursday, the statement added.
