The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 89 from the city in a regular anti-narcotics drive for selling and consuming contraband substance.
DMP teams conducted the drives and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Saturday.
The drive in various places of the capital seized 6,491 pieces of yaba tablets, 669 grams of heroin, 2.35 kilograms of cannabis and 112 bottles of bottles of Phensedyl as well as other contraband substances, according to a DMP statement.
A total of 59 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
