Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 2,416 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation on the city streets as part of its regular drives.
The DMP on Friday also realised Tk 1.723 million as fine for traffic rules violation, said an official release.
Of the total cases, 167 cases were filed for driving on wrong sides, 43 for using hydraulic horn, nine for using hotter and beckon light and six others for using tinted glass.
The department lodged 552 cases against motorcycles and seized 50 others for violating the traffic rules.
Apart from this, police dumped 15 vehicles and wrecked 417 others.
