Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on flying of sky lanterns (fanush) in the capital from 11 pm on Thursday.
The ban remains in place until 12 am on Friday, according to a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, UNB reports.
The ban has been enforced under Section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), it said.
