DNC files 7,270 cases over drug-related crimes

The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) filed 7,270 cases and arrested 7,270 people until June 2019 in connection with the drug-related crimes.

The DNC launched drives regularly across the country to nab the drug-dealers, drug-peddlers and drug-addicts and the people who are involved with drug-related offences.

Apart from this, some 30, 347 anti-narcotic committees was formed at 31,538 educational institutions to protect the country’s students from abuse of narcotics and create awareness among them, according to the data of the DNC. 

Some 13,793 drug-related cases were lodged and 15,116 people were arrested in 2018.

The department also registered 11,612 lawsuits and detained 12,651 people in 2017 in connection with the drug-related crimes.
