Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) conducted separate drives on Monday and evicted around 300 illegal establishments in the city.

A mobile court led by Md. Zulkar Nayen, the DNCC’s executive magistrate and also zonal executive officer, conducted the drives in the city’s Uttara area, and evicted shops and other illegal make-shift structures from footpath and roads.

The drives were conducted between 11:00pm to 4:00pm at Uttara’s sectors 1, 3,5,6,7,9,13 and 15.

After visiting the area, the team evicted the newly-established illegal structures where the drives were conducted earlier and removed those structures.

The mobile court also fined Tk 25,000 to RMC Hospital as it occupied footpath and road by keeping its construction materials.

Meanwhile, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam conducted an awareness programme to bring discipline on the roads at the city’s Mohammadpur area.

Such drives and mobile courts will continue in the coming days, according to a press statement.
