BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the government to hold parliamentary elections soon, saying ordinary people are not concerned with reforms.
“Ordinary people do not care about reforms. They care about having two meals a day, coarse clothing and a roof over their heads. So don’t try to pave the way for creating anarchy while procrastinating reforms. Hold the elections soon and let people live in peace,” he said while speaking as the chief guest during a public meeting at the Laksham Statdium in Cumilla on Thursday.
BNP’s Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu spoke at the gathering as the chief speaker, while the party’s Cumilla Divisional former organising secretary and former lawmaker Colonel (rtd) M Anwarul Azim as the special speaker.
BNP Industry Affairs Secretary Md Abul Kalam presided over the meeting.
