Drive against unfit buses next week

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will launch a month-long crack down on unfit and unlicensed buses in Dhaka city from November 19.

DSCC took the decision, aimed to curb traffic jam in southern part of the city, at a meeting of the coordination committee of 26 organisations today with DSCC Mayor Sayeed Hossain Khokan in the chair, reports BSS.

Khokan said mobile courts will be stationed at five key points in the city during the month-long drive.

The Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (traffic), Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Department of Environment will run the drive against the unfit vehicles.
