Dhaka city soaked in drizzles on Saturday morning, getting some brief relief from the scorching heat that has been sweeping across the country.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain in different parts of the country including Dhaka today, according to local media reports.

The Met Office on Friday predicted scattered rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds in different parts of the country including Dhaka.

The drizzling was reported in Shahbagh, Banglamotor, Kawran Bazar, Farmgate, Dhanmondi, and some adjacent areas shortly after 8.00 am after the sky was covered with black clouds.

Although the morning drizzle brought much-needed relief to the people, it also caused suffering for pedestrians and commuters who went out to work were slightly drenched.

Inland river ports in Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions and some places of Tangail, Dhaka, Barisal, and Comilla regions have given a warning due to possible storms with a maximum wind speed of 45-80 km/h.
