Detective Branch of Khulna Metropolitan Police in a bust arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 11,000 pieces of contraband Yaba pills from Sonadanga bus stand area in Khulna city on Sunday night.
The arrestee was identified as Kabir Hawladar, 45, son of Phul Miah, a resident of Rasul Bazar in Sarankhola upazila of Bagerhat district.
KMP Assistant Deputy Commissioner (Media) Sonali Sen said acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Islam conducted a three-hour long drive and arrested Kabir with the Yaba pills which were concealed in two irrigation machines around 8 pm.
During primary interrogation, Kabir confessed to his involvement in drug peddling for long, reports UNB.
A case was filed with Sonadanga Model Police Station over the matter, the police official added.
