Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sayeed Khokon today said the wastage of sacrificial animals would be removed within 24 hours.
"We have started removing the wastage. Both the Dhaka South and North City Corporations will remove wastage of sacrificial animal within 24-hour," he told this while kick off wastage removal in front of Sadeque Hossain Khoka ground at Dholaikhal in the city.
As many as 17,000 cleaners have been working to remove wastage of sacrificing animals in the city.
The city corporations have cancelled leave of their officials and employees to this end.
Replying to a question about the fixed places for animal sacrificing, Sayeed Khokon said the places of sacrificing animals are insufficient in the city alongside the city dwellers also like to slaughter sacrificial animals at their residence.
He expressed his hope that number of slaughtering sacrificing animals at the fixed places will increase in future, reports BSS.
