Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon on Thursday warned that the anti-adulteration drive will be strengthened and it will continue until the malpractice is stopped.

The mayor came up with the announcement while inaugurating an anti-adulteration drive at Bailey Road.

Sayeed Khokon directed all concerned to make the drive more effective.

Recently, a week-long anti-adulteration drive was conducted in the capital city that concluded on January 20.

"We started the drive on January 14. Earlier, we only realised fine from various restaurants. People involved in food adulteration were given different jail terms. Besides, there was cancellation of trade license and sealing of different restaurants."

This time, the mayor warned, the fine will be increased alongside the extension of jail term, reports UNB.

The mayor inspected Nababi Bhoj restaurant at Bailey Road and directed its owners and all concerned to maintain hygiene.
