A mild earthquake, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, struck various parts of the country, including the capital, Dhaka, at 12:43 am on Thursday.
According to the Meteorological Department, the epicentre was in Jajira, Shariatpur, 48 km south of Dhaka. No immediate reports of damage have been made, according to local media.
