An easy-bike driver died after being electrocuted while charging his vehicle at home at Dattapara Union in Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam Akon (44), son of Abdul Karim Akon from the same locality.
According to family members and locals, Salam was electrocuted when he was pulling out the charger of the easy-bike at his residence around 6:00 am.
He was critically injured and rushed to the Shibchar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors at the emergency department declared him dead.
Md. Raton Sheikh, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibchar Police Station, said the body was handed over to the family without any autopsy as there were no complaints filed regarding the death.
