The government has issued directives to authorities concerned to urgently open up all educational institutions in flood prone areas to use those as temporary shelter centres, reports BSS.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on Friday gave a notification to this end asking teachers, officers and employees of all offices and all government and non-government educational institutions in flood-prone areas to work in unison with local administrations and flood management committees to extend necessary cooperation to them.

District education officers have been asked to send the lists of the number of institutions to be used as flood shelter centres to dsheflood2019@gmail, the concerned email of the directorate, the notification said.

The district education officers will also have to send information if any institutions get damaged due to the ongoing flood mentioning damage details and approximate quantity of loss in Taka in a chart given by the DSHE immediately after the improvement of flood situations.
