The government has temporarily suspended eight National Board of Revenue (NBR) officials for publicly tearing up their transfer orders.
The Internal Resources Division (IRD) issued separate suspension orders, signed by Abdur Rahman Khan, NBR chairman and secretary of IRD, in this regard today (Tuesday).
According to the orders, a disciplinary investigation has been conducted against several officials for displaying defiant behaviour by publicly tearing up the transfer order issued on June 22.
As a result, a decision has been made to suspend them temporarily from their positions.
During the suspension period, they have been appointed as Special Officers on Duty at the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
As per regulations, they will continue to receive their existing allowance during the suspension.
