Election Commission redraws boundaries of four constituencies in Pabna, Faridpur

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette redefining the boundaries of four parliamentary constituencies in Pabna and Faridpur districts.
The four seats are Pabna-1, Pabna-2, Faridpur-2 and Faridpur-4.
The decision follows an order from the High Court division to revise the boundaries.
According to the gazette released on Wednesday, Pabna-1 (Electoral Area: 68) now covers Santhia Upazila, Bera Municipality of Bera Upazila, Hatulia Nakalia Union, New Barenga Union, Chakla Union and Kaitola Union.
Pabna-2 (Electoral Area: 69) comprises Sujanagar Upazila and the remainder of Bera Upazila, excluding Bera Municipality, Hatulia Nakalia Union, Notunvarenga Union, Chakla Union and Koitola Union.
Faridpur-2 (Electoral Area: 212) now includes Nagarkanda Upazila and Saltha Upazila.
Faridpur-4 (Electoral Area: 214) covers Bhanga, Charbhadrasan and Sadarpur Upazilas.
Commenting on Friday, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud said: “The boundaries have been revised in accordance with the court’s order.”
Announcing the timetable on Dec 11, the EC set Feb 12 for the general election and a referendum on the July National Charter.
