Election could be in week before Ramadan next year, Yunus tells Tarique

Provided all preparations are done, the general election could be held before Ramadan begins in 2026, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has told BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, according to a joint statement issued after their meeting in London.

However, to meet that timeline, it would need sufficient progress in reforms and trials, the statement quoted Yunus as telling Tarique during the meeting.
