Protesting engineering students have called for an apology from Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and raised five demands, alleging a police attack on them.
They have also announced the continuation of their sit-in at Shahbagh, bdnews24.com reports.
Rejecting the government-formed committee, they demanded that the treatment of students injured in the "police attack" be ensured, that the police officers responsible for the attack be brought to justice and dismissed from their jobs, and that students' security be guaranteed.
Jubayer Ahmed, a civil engineering student at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), announced the development at a briefing held outside the InterContinental Hotel in the capital at 5:30pm on Wednesday.
