The entire country will come under full electricity coverage within the next three to four years, said State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Monday.
“The electricity coverage will be ensured 100 per cent throughout the country within the next three to four years,” he said.
The minister was replying to a supplementary question from BNP MP Harunur Rashid (Chapainawabganj-3) during the question-answer session in Parliament, reports UNB.
The state minister said it took 50 years for South Korea to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. “But it won’t take that much time for us to do so.”
In reply to a question from another BNP MP Gulam Mohammad Siraj (Bogura-6), the state minister said the present government raised the prices of electricity on six occasions in the last 10 years.
