The academic programme of the Economic Reporters Forum’s institute (ERF Institute) began its journey on Monday.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed inaugurated the programme at the ERF premises by unveiling a plaque.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the ERF Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) on the occasion.
ERF General Secretary Abul Kashem and ICAB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shubhashish Bose signed the MoU at the beginning of a seminar titled “Financial Transparency in the Corporate Sector.”
ERF President Doulot Akter Mala and ICAB President N K A Mobin witnessed the signing of the MoU.
Under the agreement, the ERF Institute and ICAB will exchange knowledge and share expertise between journalists and chartered accountants.
At the event, ERF Institute Chief Coordinator Asjadul Kibria conducted a brief needs assessment survey to design and offer courses by October.
Founding committee members of the ERF Institute were honoured with crests for their contribution to establishing the institute’s formal structure during the 2016–2018 term.
