Eviction drive will continue against encroachers to remove illegal structures from river across the country, said shipping secretary Md Abdus Samad in the capital yesterday (Saturday).
He was attending as the chief guest at a discussion on ‘Save River, Save Country’ on the occasion of World Water Day at the National Press Club in the capital, said a press release.
The programme was organised by the Daily Janata and news agency PNS.
The function was presided over by journalist Sahabuddin Sikda. The discussion was open by the Dainik Janata publisher Syed Anwar.
At the function the chef guest said we have to save our rivers across the country. Clean rivers will help us to survive, he said.
A documentary on river made by Sahabuddin Sikhder was also shown at the programme.
