Evidence of gunfire from RAB helicopter during uprising found: Tajul

Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Muhammad Tajul Islam on Sunday said the evidence of firing from a helicopter of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was found during the anti-discrimination student movement in July and August last year.

“Former director general of RAB Harun or Rashid planned and implemented the firing from helicopters to suppress the movement,” Tajul said after a hearing at the tribunal in Dhaka on Sunday.

The chief prosecutor said the tribunal issued a warrant to arrest the former director general of RAB.

He also informed the media that the tribunal so far issued arrest warrants against 96 people in cases filed over crimes against humanity.
