Detectives have arrested Amir Hossain Amu, a former Awami League lawmaker and industries minister, from the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka.
A team from the Detective Branch (DB) of the police held the former industries minister on Wednesday from West Dhanmondi, said Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, as per media reports.
The police said that there are a total of 15 cases against him, including a murder case. He will be shown arrested in one of the cases.
Amu would also be presented in court with a request for remand, Mallick added.
