Expatriate stabbed to death in Chattogram’s Patiya

A Bangladeshi expatriate has died after being stabbing in Chattogram’s Patiya.

Md Mamun, 24, succumbed to his wounds while receiving treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital early on Friday morning. He was a resident of Paschim Dengapara in South Bhurshi Union.

Md Nuruzzaman, chief of Patiya Police Station, said that law enforcers have learnt that a man had stabbed Mamun in the Dengapara area on Thursday night, although the motive remains unknown.

“His family members took him to CMC Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment early in the morning.”

The family had not officially reported incident to the police, Nuruzzaman added.

The body is currently at the hospital.

The man alleged to have stabbed Mamun was identified by a single name as Fahim. He is also accused in an abduction case and police are working to arrest him, Nuruzzaman said.
