Fahim Al Ishaq Chowdhury Trust working to improve education in Zakiganj, Kanaighat

The Fahim Al Ishaq Chowdhury Trust has launched a scholarship initiative to promote education for meritorious students in grades five to eight across schools and madrasas in Zakiganj and Kanaighat.
A total of 500 scholarships will be awarded in three categories, according to a media release.
The scholarship amounts will be disbursed as one-time payments- Tk 2,500 for the Merit Grade, Tk 2,000 for the First Grade and Tk 1,500 for the General Grade.
These will be awarded based on examinations held in a festive atmosphere on December 15 and 17, with the participation of 2,100 students.
Scholarship recipients will also receive certificates, and the awards ceremony is scheduled for late January or early February next year.
On December 15, a meeting was held at Moulovi Sair Ali High School in Parchak, Zakiganj with journalists from leading print and electronic media.
Mr. Md. Shabbir Ahmad, Secretary of the Trust, elaborated on the Trust's objectives, social significance, and future plans.
He emphasized the program's role in encouraging talented students, supporting their growth, and promoting higher education.
Other notable speakers included Mr. A.T.M. Selim Chowdhury, Vice-President of the Trust, the Upazila Education Officer, and distinguished local personalities.
The Trust aims to enhance education, alleviate poverty, and provide humanitarian services, thereby improving the quality of life in Zakiganj and Kanaighat, the release adds.
