Fake freedom fighters to be brought to book: Adviser Farooq-e-Azam

Farooq-e-Azam, adviser to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, has reiterated that fake freedom fighters will be identified and brought under legal action.

He made the remarks after the third session of the second day of the DC Conference on Monday (February 17) at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, while speaking to reporters. The session was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

The adviser noted that district commissioners have raised concerns over the presence of fake freedom fighters in various districts, and local freedom fighters have been vocal about the issue.

The district administrators have urged for the swift identification and legal action against these individuals, requesting clear and specific guidelines to tackle the situation effectively, Azam said.
