Falling bamboo stick kills woman amid storm in Dhaka

A woman has died after being hit by a falling bamboo stick from a construction site at Demra amid a storm in Dhaka.

The woman was passing by at the Mir Hajirbagh area when the stick from a three-storey building under construction hit her on Tuesday afternoon, Demra Police Station OC Md Siddiqur Rahman said, reports bdnews24.com.

 “There was a storm lashing the area at the time,” he said.

He could not give any other details immediately.

 “We’ve despatched a team to the scene,” the OC said.
