Fire breaks out at sawmill in Khilgaon

A fire erupted out at a sawmill near Taltola Bazar in Dhaka’s Khilgaon, prompting three fire service units to respond and bring it under control.

Fire Service Control Room Duty Officer Rashed Bin Khalid said they received word of the fire around 7:30pm on Friday.

“A sawmill in the area has caught fire. Initially, two of our units responded, and later, another unit joined the effort,” he said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be determined.

Following the incident, traffic movement outside the Taltola Bazar has been suspended.
